My Story
Caring for Cuzzies was made to help spread information and tips for taking people who have been diagnosed with Mild Cognitive Impairment (MCI) or Dementia at home. Many people are checking their loved ones into nursing homes or assisted care facilities for these diseases, when in many cases, these people can be cared for at home. There are many benefits to caring for these people at home, but the biggest one in my opinion is the comfort of being around loved ones.
My passion for the topic comes from my grandmother, also know as Cuzzie, who is diagnosed with MCI. At first, it was a big adjustment for all of us living in the house. My mom, my sister, and I had to make some big changes in our daily routine to make sure that my grandmother's condition didn't worsen. Now that those changes have been made, everything seems normal. With time, patience, and love we have all adjusted and adapted to her condition and do everything we can to make sure it doesn't progress.
